Africa - Acacia Senegal

A tree from the tropical regions of western Africa, Acacia senegal is best known for the exudate that flows from its bark when it’s cut. This exudate - known as gum arabic or acacia gum - heals the tree’s wounds and has long been used by man for its thickening and gelling properties. Today it is used in the pharmaceutical, food and textile industries.

In cosmetics, acacia micro-pearls help smooth the skin’s surface, while the PLANT MICROPATCH - of which acacia gum is one of the components - possesses filmogenic properties that protect the skin from dehydration.
