Africa - Argan

The argan tree grows in southeastern Morocco. Its exceptional resistance to heat and drought means that it can grow in very poor soil. Since the dawn of time, argan oil has been produced from the nut of the tree, using the same traditional method. The Phoenicians used it for illumination, while today it is esteemed by Berber women for its dietary, medicinal and cosmetic properties.
